Unchained-- A Poem

I will not be silent
I will not back down
I will get back up
When I'm pushed to the ground
I will not be broken
I will not be used
I will still push forward
Even when I'm confused
I will take my chances
I will fight my fears
And I will be courageous
Even when I shed tears
I won't take life for granted
I'll lead on as I serve
I'll know what I believe in
And will not lose my nerve
I'll search until I find it
My place in this big world
I will not run or hide
My flag will be unfurled
I didn't come to sit back
Watch as the days roll by
I came to fill a purpose
I came to reach and try
So world, I'm coming at you
Fully armed and unafraid
Chew me up, swallow if you dare
For I arrive unchained.
