Spartan Heritage-- Rebeka by AetheriumDreams Spartan Heritage-- Rebeka by AetheriumDreams
A teaser for some upcoming stories about one of my favorite OCs, Rebeka Juhasz. Older, tougher, and obviously a Spartan. Her hair might change. And I know her figure is way off; I had no reference for it :P Her boots are super-thick because she's an EOD. Needs uber plating to protect against potential blasts while she's disarming Innie bombs and all that.

And we all know whose dog tags those are.:crying:

^_^ *Kermit Jazzhands* Yaaaaay!

Quick question; is that whole forearm a permanent prosthetic or is the gauntlet placed over it?

I've decided that there is no mechanical arm, and it's just a regular gauntlet :D

Oh I gotcha. I was under the impression that she had a prosthetic from the suicide bomber at Reach's memorial.

We could always say it grew back!

The only thing she lost due to the suicide bomber was her right eye... though I may add in a robotic prosthetic arm, since she's an EOD and handles bombs and all.

She looks great, and I find showing her back to be more dramatic. If there is one thing I learned about seeing the backside of a character first, it means something very serious is about to happen, or something scary if you are talking about horror movies, but I think the "something very serious is about to happen" route is more likely to happen.

How rude for her to keep her back to the audience! :p

By the way, regarding the mechanical eye she gest, you may want to note that scientists, while still working on how to connect the camera to the brain, are perfectly capable of making fake eyes that look like real ones. So if you do end up drawing her face, you might still have the wire and scarring like on here: [link] , but scientifically her new eye should look mostly the same.

Yeah, the eye problem was the main reason why she's not facing forward. I still haven't decided what it'll look like. It won't have a wire like Black-One's, I think it'll just be a normal-looking eye, but the iris and pupils form a targeting reticule when she's in combat. It syncs to her MJOLNIR Mk VII when her neural interface is "plugged in."

Oooh, Mark VII! I have a friend of mine working a commission of one, but they haven't responded in a while. Still, I have some neat ideas for it!

I'm uncreative when it comes to armor, so it's just going to look like a souped-up slightly more streamlined (and in Rebeka's case, HUGE-er) Mk VI.

She's not big--only 6 feet and ten inches-- but certain parts of her armor are doubly and triply reinforced to reduce the likelihood of more limbs getting blown off.

Really interesting! I like the hair. And the mechanical arm. And the barcode.

I was going to give her two mechanical forearms (she handles bombs for a living, go figure) but got lazy and left the other one normal.

The next story she stars in will feature a team, including her, being dispatched to investigate a Covenant Corvette that exits Slipspace "violently" and plows into a UNSC space station, damaging it heavily.

I kinda like the asymmetry.

Er. Would that be a certain Covenant Corvette...?

Excerpt:

She was cut off by a throaty roar from the other side of the hangar. She somersaulted into a kneeling position and aimed her rifle at the first thing she saw, which was an Elite in grayish armor. She remembered learning that they had been called “Ultras” back during the Great War. This one had an energy sword, and when it saw her it bellowed again and began to charge. Rebeka sprang to action, magnetic boots pounding as she ran at the creature, letting controlled bursts from her MA7C wear down its shields and finally pierce through armor and flesh. The Elite toppled, exhaling blood, and she jumped, catching its sword in midair. She skidded along the floor, disturbing bodies, and ignited the sword as she saw an orange-armored Elite coming out of a side door, followed by Grunts.
“Ez a moka!” she grunted, as bolts of plasma sailed her way. MJOLNIR Mk VIII was meant to take extensive punishment and look good doing it; she tossed a frag grenade their way and it took care of the Grunts, as well as wearing down the Elite's shields. She sidestepped as it tried to melee her, then casually cut its head off with the sword. Blood misted in the air, purple and wet.
“So I'm not just good at cutting wires after all,” she mused, deactivating the sword for now. She hung it at her hip and resumed her previous stance with the rifle. As a Spartan-IV, she had trained extensively with Sangheili combat instructors, so what she had just done was a literal piece of cake. These Elites had inferior armor and grossly inferior tactics than her teachers had.
“Perhaps I should save some alive for interrogation,” she said aloud, under her breath. She checked the Grunts she had downed; none of them were alive. If she met another Elite, she would take care to subdue it instead of killing it outright. ONI would want answers, as would the Sangheili Navy.
She went back to the Pelican. Part of her was nervous about the Slipspace drive and part of her was curious about the vehicle itself. Maybe if she accessed what little data remained in the cockpit she could glean some information about the incident that had destroyed Station X-Ray. Ships just don't burst violently out of Slipspace for no reason, she thought as she approached the Pelican.
